The Sonic Lodge is run by Phil McBride and Mark Neal who have a wealth of experience as musicians and sound engineers. Both are actively involved in the Edinburgh music scene playing and promoting live gigs and club nights.
Phil is one of Edinburgh’s foremost bass players and plays a wide range of styles from funk, jazz, hip-hop and electronica. He has been writing arranging and producing music for many years to wide acclaim in club, pubs and national radio.
With over 10 year experience as a professional musician and sound engineer as well as a PhD in musical acoustics, Mark has a great understanding of both the technical and creative aspects of recording, playing, producing and writing music. He is a multi instrumentalist playing mainly guitar and drums but can also be found playing everything from flute, bass, fiddle, harmonica etc..
